Paper covering complies with class 105°C insulation is known for its excellent behavior  in moist environment. That is why paper covered conductors (also called DPC / TPC / MPC ALUMINIUM CONDUCTORS ) best suited for oil-filled transformers and switchgears. The thickness of covering & the number of paper layers can be varied to suit the specific requirement. The properties of conductor are determined by the thermal, chemical & mechanical properties of the various paper types.

Paper insulated Copper Conductors (PICC) is the most commonly used conductors for winding coils of transformers and other electrical equipment. PICC product is available in from 1 to 4 strands integrated into one wrapped strands.
